I cannot tell you how over the moon I was when Triangl contacted me to gift me a bikini, when I saw the purple Italian velvet bikini called the Mimi I knew it was the one (even though they all could have easily been the one and are so beautiful)
The fabric on my suit is absolutely gorgeous and luxurious, it fits like a glove and the inside of the suit is a soft bathing suit material, it dries very quickly when wet and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin when I swim. The suit also comes with a beautiful purple pouch to hold the suit in when travelling to the beach or to far away destinations. I was a bit nervous about choosing a suit online without trying it on, however Triangl has an amazing online chat feature and with the use of a measuring tape they can help you find your perfect size. My suit shipped fast and came with a form for if I needed to exchange it.
While I have under 1k followers, I know I am original, authentic, creative and thoughtful when I comment on posts on Instagram or when a brand asks the public what they would like to see more of, so when I left some feedback for Triangl that I would love to see some drone videos on their page, my comment stood out among the masses and 24 hours later I received a message thanking me for the great feedback and instructing me on how to choose a suit to say thank you.
Creative comments are what has been working for me and gets brands to notice my page. I don’t have huge numbers and I won’t go buy followers and in a very saturated and competitive market the only way to gain any type of reputation, attention, event invites or products is to be myself and stand out from the crowd.
Saying “nice bikini” may or may not get you noticed but saying something unique and different like “I would like to see the use of drone cameras on the beach to shoot the girls, that would be really cool” has a higher probability you will stand out and getting you noticed and approached or followed. Another thing you can do is homework, know why the products are good, packaging, ingredients wearability etc.and leave comments expressing detailing the quality or originality of the product.
Everyone has their own creative style find yours and work with it. It helps if you narrow yourself down to three key words to describe your style of commenting mine would be kind, funny and creative.
Below I share some expert opinions on why Triangl has rose to the top and gained 3 million followers and how they made millions of dollars by carefully choosing influencers to wear their suits on Instagram
In 2012 former AFL Football Star Craig Ellis and fiancee Erin Deering headed to Hong Kong to start a swimwear line after boy meets girl, they fall in love they have a dream, sell all of their earthy possessions on ebay and start a start-up company. Triangl is known for their use of neoprene scuba material which drys quickly. Triangl with no budget for advertising decided the best way to gain attention for their designs was through celebrities so they researched Kylie Jenner’s Instagram and narrowed a group of around 20 women to send a bikini to, a few weeks later Kylie herself sent an email requesting one, once she received her bikini she tweeted about the brand — “triangle swimwear you hooked me up! thank you!” she wrote, with a photo showing at least five different styles laid out on a bed. Sales sky rocketed and celebrities like Miley Cyrus to Beyoncé to Ellie Goulding– also wore Triangl designs in public and allowed them to grow.
We focused on Instagram bloggers who fit our target demographic and who had more modest but successful follower numbers, similar to our own at the time. Our plan was to work our way up to gaining the attention of more influential Instagram users, and build our brand awareness incrementally. We hoped that once we attracted the attention of a celebrity with millions of Instagram followers, we could break through to the lucrative U.S. market. Kylie Jenner was one of the most significant Instagram users at the time, so we made her our goal.
TRIANGL – THE BIRTH OF A BRAND A Q&A With Craig Ellis, Co-Founder Of Triangl Bikinis Evolution Of Appeal
Founded in 2012, Triangl has been profitable since its launch, raking in millions of dollars in deals Powerhouse celebs such as Miley Cyrus, Ellie Goulding, and Kim Kardashian have all posed in the vibrant colour-block designs, and Britney Spears wore one on a 2015 cover of Women’s Health. In a further testament to Triangl’s success, Target and Victoria’s Secret have both come under fire online, accused of selling “knockoffs” of the trendy designs.
Phil Pallen, a Los Angeles-based brand strategist — who works with both startups and celebrities — says Triangl’s marketing is often portrayed as more authentic, compared to classic editorial-style photography. The best marketing on Instagram is when brands focus less on promoting their brands in a literal sense — but instead, use these platforms to establish a lifestyle. Triangl’s content, he adds, focuses on something that does particularly well on the photo-heavy social media site: “Beautiful people.”
London, Ont.-based marketing expert Allison Johnson says this strategy is nothing new. “We call it influencer marketing,” she says. “Essentially, it’s a very cheap form of paid advertising where their budget is essentially in the free products they give away — and they choose these influencers very carefully.”But the use of Instagram, she adds, is distinctly modern, with today’s younger generations drawn to highly visual platforms.
Triangl hasn’t spent a cent on advertising, relying wholly on the photo-sharing platform — think suntanned models frolicking on tropical beaches — where it has 3.1 million followers. “Having no money was a blessing in disguise,” says Ellis. While they do give swimwear to celebrities and others who influence trends, there’s “nothing transactional”, he says. “This way, there’s a sense of authenticity that’s way more powerful than a billboard.” Triangl’s own account boasts over 3 million followers, and the image-based social media platform has been crucial to the company’s cult following. reported The Australian
