The Original Vegan Hypoalergetic Dry Shampoo

IMG_0120My secret to having great hair is not to wash it every day because shampoo strips hair of all of its natural moisture. Going 2-3 days without washing can cause my second day hair to look really greasy, heavy and weighed down.

The solution is Klorane Dry Shampoo

. Essential in the gym bag to freshen locks up after a light workout.
. For those early morning meetings, blogger events and girls night out when you have no time to get a full glam on a few spritz into hair and voila a fresh mane that stays shiny and voluminous all day or night.
. Hit the snooze button and catch a few more moments of beauty sleep, tame flyaways or add volume to flat hair when you wake up, this is especially nice when it’s freezing during the winter and you don’t have to get hair wet in the shower.

Although I am not a vegan when I can make more ethical choices and use plant based products which are not tested on animals I do. The natural botanicals and plant based ingredients in my Klorane Dry Shampoo combined with its effectiveness in combating , loss of volume, greasiness and unruly strands make this my Dry Shampoo of choice.

Klorane USA did a study and the results were as follows

Plant extracts of common oat seed are high in carbohydrates, lipids and vitamins and are selected for their hydrating, softening and protective properties.
Stinging Nettle root extract helps reduce sebum secretion and absorb oil.
Starch, Silica and Beta Cyclodestrine have highly absorbent qualities that keep hair looking fresh without weighing it down.

How to wear your fragrance to maximize attractiveness

Viva La Juicy Perfume Review
I discovered this beautiful scent many years ago when it was gifted to me by my mother. I find viva la juicy perfume the perfect everyday scent because it’s so feminine and fun, I am someone who really likes fresh clean gentle scents with a hint of a darker powdery musk and I don’t like strong vanilla overpowering but do like a small hint of it to linger. There are no florals in this scent, I don’t like floral scents because I find them overpowering and too strong, but a hint of spicy orange citrus is present to balance out the sweetness and give the perfume that originality and sweetness.
The bottle is so cute and girly it looks really great in your perfume collection because of the hot pink bow and gold accents. This perfume doesn’t go on too strong and it lasts many hours on the skin and forever if sprayed on leather or fabric materials.

How to Apply Perfume for Attractiveness
Most women spray on their wrists as a traditional way of wearing scents and others spray all over.
But I’ll let you in on a little secret, the best places to spray perfume are
The top of your head, women are often shorter than men and men like clean hair, putting a dab on the crown ensures that your hair smells good and that scent reaches your object of affections nose.
Behind your knees , women are always crossing our legs putting a dab on the back of the knee ensures a nice scent while we are engaging with others,
Inner arm, humans move their hands when they talk so having a dose on the inner arm insures freshness while you talk.
All of these areas produce lots of heat, this accentuates the scent and permeates it into the air. These tips are just a guide, the worst thing you can do is overdue a scent, probably why I never wear floral scents because it’s easy to go overboard with them, a scent like juicy is so gentle and fresh it could never be too overpowering even with multiple doses.

Quick Organic and Downright Delicious

IMG_9327.JPGWhen the good people over at Influenster asked me if I was in to try the new organic seasoning from Club House  complimentary for testing purposes, of course I was in because I love to cook and I also love making healthy choices like choosing Organic.

The first seasoning I tried was the Kung-Pao seasoning and my first impression is this is some good seasoning because the first ingredient was a quality one, Cane Sugar, Cane Sugar is expensive and of good quality.  I chose to use chicken as my meat and I added Shredded Napa Cabbage, Carrots, Onions and Peppers to my stir fry. Making this dish was easy all I had to do was add water. I love Basmati Rice so I added my Kung-Pao Chicken stir fry over a bed of delicious rice.

The second seasoning I tried was the new Organic Taco seasoning, again I was impressed with the organic ingredients that I could pronounce. The flavor was tex-mex style and coated the ground beef very nicely, I prefer this taco seasoning to the non-organic it was so aromatic and delicious. I got imported from Mexico Corn Tortillas from No- Frills and topped my tacos with Shredded Tomato, Onion, Salsa Verde and Sour Cream.  Again preparation was very easy just add a cup of water and cook it on medium until all of the liquid becomes sauce.

Influenster generously sent me these samples to try, all opinions are my own personal opinions

It’s all about Sweater Weather

IMG_8902It’s all about sweater weather as the cold weather is officially here in Toronto Canada and I will be living in cozy knits from now until April (oh Canadian winters.)

My current favourite sweater was purchased at a recent sale at Urban Planet. I bought one sweater in black for $24.99 and got the second, an orange sweater (my current favorite featured in this post ) for just one cent. Urban Planet always has amazing sales pretty much weekly, you check their website or join the emailing or texting list to get notifications delivered straight to your email or phone.

According to one article from Huffington Post

Orange represents creativity, confidence, joy, sensuality and ambition. It suggests vibrant health and has positive effects on emotional states. Huffington Post suggests you to wear orange when you want to have fun, heighten creativity or heal emotions. Avoid it when you feel restless, dependent, fearful or want to relax.

I definitely feel confident ambitious joyful and sensual in this colour. What’s nice about this sweater, which you can buy in many different colours including this beautiful orange here , is it can be warn long, which looks amazing styled with leather leggings or as I have styled the sweater tucked into these amazing high wasted fringe hemmed jeans also from urban planet here.

Easy DIY Zombie Halloween Costume

DIY Zombie Halloween Costume

  1. Find an old school or distressed t shirt like this awesome one I found thrifting that literally says zombies on it.
  2. Use pale makeup to cover your entire face including lips , you want to look dead so making your lips look colorless is a good way to give off the corpse look.
  3. Use a light red blood toned blush on cheeks as a hint of color , line your eyes and use a good mascara to make them really pop. I have blue eyes and I am happy with the way they look however some people like to use contacts to make their eyes look even more spooky.
  4. For the hairstyle, go for the rats nest disheveled I’ve been eating people all day sort of look. I recommend to wash it the day before your Halloween event and when you wake up in the morning spray it with hairspray and tease and backcomb it really big, I add a few curls to make it look more stylish but the backcombing and hairspray give the locks a wild look.
  5. Take fake blood and put it all over your face neck and body to make it look like you are the undead feasting.
  6. For the bottom half depending on where you are going you could be more casual with jeans and sneakers or for the evening look make it more sexy with black leather leggings and heels or booties.

Anyone of any gender or age can make this easy costume with a few modifications or personal touches. Have 2 Halloween parties? Make night 2 a zombie version of night 1 costume.  Choose themed clothing or costumes  some examples are saved by the bell 90’s fashion, stranger things character or your favorite celebrity, a pregnant woman might include a zombie baby doll tummy. Whatever costume you like for Halloween just use the above DIY zombie costume steps in addition to your favorite Halloween costume.

How to be more popular at parties and social gatherings

Tips for being popular at parties and social gatherings
Treat others how you would like to be treated
1. Remember others names
Calling someone by name and taking the time to remember a name in this busy society goes a long way in making lasting positive impressions on others. Science has proven that we remember things in three’s so I like to have three pathways set up to remember names.
  • First I makeup a rhyme like for Robert, Robert Bobert
  • I then connect Robert to someone I know “Robert is Becky’s husband” or “Robert like my Uncle Robert”
  • My final connection is made by saying the name back to Robert three times
  • “How are you Robert” “ Helen have you and Robert seen the latest movie?” “do you have any pets Robert?”
2. Ask open ended questions
People like to be listened to and some people are shy, avoid yes or no questions that block the flow of conversation and use open ended questions an example of an open-ended question is “what is your favorite restaurant and why?” an example of a question that blocks the flow of conversation would be “do you like food?”
3. Shift the Conversation from yourself to others to allow others to talk about themselves.
I used to be a nervous rambler and anytime I met someone I would nervously talk about myself, this lead me to knowing little about people that I met in life and always being left with a feeling of longing to see them again to ask more questions. I made it my mission to learn as much as possible about others and share as little as possible about myself unless of course I am asked and then I provide short concise answers, this way others are left wanting to learn more and you leave knowing a lot about your new social connections.
4. Use body language to show others you are interested in them
Making eye contact with others who are speaking and leaning in or mirroring others body language goes a long way in making others feel more comfortable and want to be around you. When making eye contact remember to look down then back up every few seconds so you don’t come across too intense. If you are speaking, make sure to use your eyes to engage with everyone fairly especially in groups of three.
5. Do not exclude others
Get togethers are for making friends and being social be mindful not to create circles that exclude other people from joining because you will miss out on building new relationships and may make others feel secluded or left out. Treat others how you yourself would like to be treated, chances are high that if you find yourself at the same get together as another person that you are likely to see them again so don’t be rude.

Never Be Rude                Always Be Polite

As Promised the worst party fails I have experienced
The first party fail happened at a wedding cocktail hour, a group of women who were long time girlfriends made a statement exclusively taking pictures together and getting other women to take the pictures while others awkwardly watched and felt left out.The girls should have made the energy more open by gathering everyone together to feel included and asking a wedding staff person to take the photo for a keepsake for the bride and groom of the special blend of friends.
The next party fail moment was at a get together where two women were clearly sitting next to one another texting to make fun of someone in the room, not sure if it was me but it felt like it because when people do rude things it makes everyone feel uncomfortable. Phone bullying is rude whether someone is trying to embarrass someone on an Instagram video or snapchat or people in the room are clearly texting each other and making fun of someone in the room the behavior is obvious and repels all good people who make life better while attracting all the people who are drama and make life worse.
The final party fail was where one woman had a low cut dress and had a wardrobe malfunction, instead of quietly pulling the woman aside this woman savagely yells across a table full of people that this woman is exposing herself, even if she was which she wasn’t you pull someone aside and quietly let them know they have a wardrobe malfunction or lipstick on their teeth, calling people out and embarrassing them is very rude and just makes the rude person seem jealous and petty.

Veuve Clicqout Apple Pie Mimosa

Mimosas are making a huge comeback in 2017. Bridal and wedding showers, weekend brunch and parties are just some of the occasions where mimosas are a popular drink of choice. Mimosas are traditionally served as a mixture of Orange juice and Champagne and they are world famous for being refreshing and light to drink. The Mimosa is named after a bright yellow blossoming flower that can be found in the South of Mexico and throughout the South and Central America’s.

Battle of the Mimosa

The origin of the mimosa is up for debate as some believe the beverage was invented at The Ritz Hotel in Paris France in the year 1925 by Frank Meier and others believe that Frank the French bartender stole the idea from a London England tavern that called their mimosa “Buck’s Fizz” The difference between the two Mimosas a the Ritz uses a 50/50 ratio while Bucks opts for a sweeter version with 75 percent orange juice to champagne.

Apple Pie Mimosa

  1. Take One Champagne Flute
  2. In a bowl mix together equal parts of Brown sugar and White sugar, season the sugar to your desired taste using Nutmeg, Cinnamon and Ginger
  3. Dip the Champagne Flute in Apple Cider and rim the Flute in the Sugar mixture
  4. You can then choose to make your mimosa the Ritz way (50 % Veuve Clicqout Champagne Brut by Veuve Clicquot and 50% Apple Cider) or the Buzz Fizz way (25% Veuve Clicqout Champagne Brut by Veuve Clicquot and 75% Apple Cider
  5. Repeat Steps 1-4  because you won’t want to drink just one
